Betty Fay Obituary

Betty Jean Fay, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, at the age of 89. Her deep faith in the grace offered through Jesus Christ assures us that she now lives with her Lord and Savior eternally.

Betty was born in Tell City, IN, on May 2, 1933, to Russell and Ruby (Rearden) Hudson. She was a 1951 graduate of Tell City High School. She worked 15 years for General Electric before moving to Bristol Myers. She held several roles in her 27 years there, retiring in 1994.

She was best known for her servant’s heart, humility, and steadfast dedication to her family and Jesus. Never one to strive for her own accolades, she was more interested in showing up for her children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren as they pursued their dreams. Her commitment to serve the people she loved will leave a lasting impact for generations.

Betty loved quilting, crafts, puzzles, and playing games; she carried her playing cards with her everywhere. She and Jim enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad, having visited over 15 countries together. Betty loved watching sports, especially basketball and baseball.  She was a devoted fan of the Evansville Aces, Otters Baseball, and Bosse Athletics. Betty was a member of Crossroads Christian Church and enjoyed painting ceramics for the Angel Tree Society.

She is survived by daughters, Lea (Tim) Deisher and Lari (Rob) Procunier; grandchildren, Jan (Kent) Gerbers, Cole Deisher, Candace (Ross) Chapman, Daniel Procunier, and Eric (Jessi) Procunier; great-grandchildren, Kendall and Maris Gerbers, William, Pierce, and Beckett Chapman; sister-in-law Pauletta Hudson; brother-in-law Earl Fay, and nephews Jeff, Brian, Tommy, and Danny Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James “Jim” Fay, her parents, and brothers, Ronald and Robert Hudson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2022, at Crossroads Christian Church at 10800 Outer Lincoln Avenue, Newburgh with Pastor Eric Cummings officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Tell City, IN.
