Betty (Shinall) Underwood

Betty (Shinall) Underwood, age 84, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at home.

Betty was born December 16, 1933, in Marion, KY, to the late Sterlin and Juanita (Howard) Shinall. She worked for many years as a nurse and enjoyed watching skating competitions and camping with her family. Betty especially loved her family and her grandkids.

She is survived by her son, Marty Underwood (Carla); daughter, Deborah Chapel (Ray); grandchildren, Joshua Underwood (Emily), Lacy Dyer, Gabrielle Hayes, and Kameron Underwood; great-grandkids, Lydia, Zane, Lexie, and Cruz; and 11 brothers and sisters.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, John L. Underwood, who passed away in 2003; and granddaughter, Anissa Jill Chapel.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville.

Burial will be Private.
