Betty Jo (Sampson) Burdette - Beloved, Loyal, Generous, Faithful…Passed away early on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at age 90.

Betty was born July 29, 1931, in Drakesboro, KY, to Chester and Bertie Lou (Merrell) Sampson. She graduated from Central High School in 1949. Betty was a lifelong (since 1944) member of First Baptist Church where she served as official Church Visitor, Deacon, teacher of the Euvenice Sunday School Class, and was a long-time member of the Come Double Class with her husband, Ray.

Betty loved cards, especially clabber, and played with friends and with card clubs. She was very social and a lover of all people. She was a founding member of a Bunco (dice game) club that met monthly and lasted over 60 years.

She will leave a huge hole in the hearts of many, especially her children.

Betty is survived by three children, Debbie Meyer (Mark), Brian Burdette (Dorinda), and Rex Burdette (Kim); and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Burdette, who passed away in 2014 at age 88. They were married in 1949 and stayed married an incredible 65 years. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Bertie Lou Sampson; and sisters, Virginia Nell McLemore Roberts and Ruth Shandon Craig.
