Billy E. Welden, age 86, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 5:03 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020, peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family.
Billy was born April 2, 1933, in Evansville, IN, to Wilbon W. and Margaret (Crawford) Welden. He graduated from Bosse High School, and he attended the University of Evansville. Billy was a Veteran in the United States Air Force where he served from 1952 – 1956. He and Don Hart, who were mentored by Jimmy Rogers, sang as Rock ‘n Roll Entertainers under Roulette Record Label. Billy went on to be a Personal Manager for several different artists in Hollywood before he was self-employed as a Sales Rep for auto warranties. He was a member of Grace Nazarene Church.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Lois (Bennett Stallings) Welden; brother, Donald Welden; 4 stepsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bonnie Arnold; and half-brothers, Robert and Gilbert.
Private Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with
Pastor Brett Doninger and Pastor Mike Stallings officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time. Please visit Boone Funeral Home’s Facebook page and click on the link provided. Private Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
