Bradford Troxel “Brad” Potts, age 69, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026, at his home.
Brad was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on December 23, 1956 to George and Flossie (Troxel) Potts.
Brad was married to the Love of His life, Barbara Jean Defoort, on May 28, 1977 and they remained married for 50 years.
Brad gave his life to Jesus Christ early in his youth and was a member of the Mackey Church of the Nazarene. His desire for young and old alike was to surrender your life to Jesus Christ and let Him be Lord of all in your life.
Brad enjoyed his employment in Banking, Telecommunications and Real Estate through the years. He loved family times and was blessed with two daughters and fine son in laws along with six grandchildren. Fun times and memories abound with family as they fished, played games and enjoyed their personal interests in many events and activities of the day. Travel, music and time with friends rounded off the pleasantries of life for Brad.
Brad is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Jean Potts; two daughters, Kristina Renea Mowery (Matthew) of Adel, GA and Adrianna Jean DeJong (Michael) of Edgar, WI; six grandchildren, Coleman M. Mowery, Peyton O. Mowery, Tenley G. Mowery, Ellia G. DeJong, Ava R. DeJong, and Camden M. DeJong; brothers, Kenneth K. Potts (Jill) of DeKalb, IL and Richard A. Potts (Charleen) of Washington, IN; sisters, Janet G. Campbell of Oklahoma City, OK and Anita D. Teter of Plano, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
Brad is preceded in death by his parents, George and Flossie Potts.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Mackey Church of the Nazarene, 9612 E. Main Street, Mackey, IN with Pastor Jared Henry and Pastor Mike Bell officiating.
Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2026, at Mackey Church of the Nazarene, 9612 E. Main Street, Mackey, IN.
Burial will be held 10 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2026 at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 1350 E Pierce St, Council Bluffs, IA 51503.
