Brenda Juanita Calhoun

Brenda Juanita (Lovelace) Calhoun, age 81, of Evansville, IN, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Brenda was born April 18, 1943, in Evansville, IN, to Margaret (Lovelace) Lee and William Howard. She graduated from Bosse High School and earned her Secretarial Certificate from Lockyear Business College. Brenda was a former member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she served as Church Secretary, and she was employed with Lincoln Elementary School as a Cafeteria Worker and retired as the Cafeteria Manager in 2005 after 36 years of service.

Brenda enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and challenging her daughters to a game of Scrabble. She was lovingly known as “Aunt BB.” Brenda loved people and treated everyone like family, and she especially loved hosting gatherings.

Brenda is survived by her daughters, Tina Roberts (Alden) and Angela Finn; sister, Eugenia Wooldridge; grandchildren, Jermaine T.L. Calhoun, Joshua T. Calhoun (Shayla), Terrance M. Johnson, Alden J. Roberts II (Aline), Kia G. Agniman, Kylie A. Furse (Daymar), Avery J. Roberts (Victoria), and Ayanna J. Roberts; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; nephew and niece, Allan Outlaw and BreAune Rice (James); special loved ones, Ophelia Miles, Temple Long, Nettie Rucker, Judy Anderson, and Wanda Gray; and a host of friends and family.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael T. Calhoun; and sister, Sandra Finn.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. CST, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Lynn Owens officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time CST, Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
