Byron Michael “B” Courtney, age 74, of Newburgh, IN, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, March 22, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital – Evansville.
Byron was born July 25, 1949, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Lawrence and Erma Jean (Hulsey) Courtney. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1967 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from ISUE. He was a faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church for over 60 years where he served as a Deacon. Byron worked at RuVan Plastics, Inc. in Manufacturing and later in Sales before retiring in 2013. He enjoyed playing and watching softball, golf, and bowling, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Byron loved animals and also enjoyed playing Santa for the pets at the Vanderburgh Humane Society.
Byron is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Laura (Jaspar) Courtney; siblings, Roger Courtney, Joyce Clark (Mike), and Robin Courtney (Ginger); nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle B, Angela, Pamela, Melissa, and Brock; and many great nieces and nephews.
Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Alan Jackson officiating.
