Carl Stephen Hayes, age 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 3:11 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Carl was born November 11, 1932, in Henderson, KY, to Roy and Etheline Marie (Brown) Hayes. He was a Veteran in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Carl was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2953 and a member of the American Legion. He was able to be a part of an Honor Flight in 2018. He worked for many years with Industrial Contractors. Carl enjoyed tinkering with anything with a motor, and he loved helping his friends and neighbors.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rejeana (Wallace) Hayes; daughters, April Marie Hansen and Carla Renee Hayes; sons, Stephen Hayes (Shannon), Michael Hayes (Sherri), Marvin Hinton; Todd Hinton (Brynn), and Jeffrey Hinton (Kelley); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Etheline Hayes; sister, Sylvia Grossman; and brother, Jerry Dean Hayes.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice, Dr. Karl Sash, and nurse, Stephanie for their loving care and concern since September 2020.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Chaplain Scott Hutchinson officiating.
