Carl William "Bill" Hoge Obituary

Carl William “Bill” Hoge, age 87, of Evansville, IN passed away with his family members by his side at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Heart-to-Heart Hospice Center.

Bill was born June 27, 1935, in Evansville, IN, to Carl H. and Lucille V. (Niehaus) Hoge. He graduated from Reitz High School in 1953. Bill was a proud Army Veteran, serving in Germany on border patrol. He was a member of VFW 1114. Bill worked for Sterling Brewery for 36 years. Bill was a founder of Sterling Credit Union. When the brewery closed, he went on to work for Hoprich Welding & Supply where he retired as plant manager. He was a member of Faithway Baptist Church.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joan Hoge; daughter, Theresa Bowers (Michael); sons, Wayne Hoge (Melissa) and Larry Renschler (Beth); grandchildren, Haley Adcock (Cody), Hunter Renschler (Sarah), Kyle Hoge, Paxton Hoge, Tyler Bowers (Kaitlyn), and Alyssa Bowers; and great-grandchild, Danny Bowers.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jean Harlan; and brother, Jerry Hoge.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Gayle Russ officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans will perform Military Rites.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
