Carlton “Carl” Harris, age 86, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on November 30, 2025, at Linda White Hospice with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 7, 1938, in Evansville, Indiana.
Carl graduated from Millersburg High School in 1957. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1957–1962. In 1959, he married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Carter, and together they built a beautiful life filled with family, faith, and adventure.

He was dedicated to public service and proudly served as a reserve police officer for the Tell City Police Department for 20 years. Carl and Brenda also served as campground hosts at Lincoln State Park and Florida State Parks for 20 years.
Carl made people laugh and brightened their day with his dry sense of humor. He loved sharing stories, offering a helping hand, and spending time with his family.
Carl also loved riding his motorcycle, driving his motor home, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee and a bowl of popcorn, simple pleasures that reflected his easygoing spirit. A faithful follower of Jesus, Carl attended Abundant Life Church in Newburgh, IN, and loved his family well.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, John Harris, and Pearl and Howard Walls, and his daughter, Christy Rolley, in 2020.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda; his children, Carla Harris, Cathy Fuchs (Dale), Chad Harris (Tracey), and Charity Reine (Clint); and his brother, Daryel Harris (Linda).
