Carmon "Kay" (Miley) Willis

Carmon “Kay” Willis, age 86, of Newburgh, IN, passed away peacefully at 3:47 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Village at Hamilton Pointe.

Kay was born September 14, 1937, in Petersburg, IN to Henry and Elizabeth "Maggie" (Gladish) Miley. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1955. Kay was a longtime member of Embrace Church (formerly known as American Baptist East). She went on several mission trips and was active in the ABWM. Kay was a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family.

Kay is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Joseph H. Willis; daughter, Gayle Shafer (Tony); sister, Martha Ann Arnold; grandchildren, Brent Shafer (Melissa) and Scott Shafer (Rachel); and great-grandchildren, Grace Barnett, Caleb Shafer, Clara Shafer, and Henry Shafer.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents; son, K. Wayne Willis; brothers, Claude Miley, Morris Miley, and David Joe Miley; and sisters, Rosemary Borders and Marjorie Barrett.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Jeff Stratton officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
