Carolyn N. (Nattier) Mott, age 89, of Evansville, IN went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 24, 2025. She was blessed to spend her final days at her home.
Carolyn was born March 25, 1936, in Patoka, IL, to the late William H. and Rose Mae (Varner) Nattier. Carolyn learned to be a hard worker at an early age as she woke up every morning at 4:30 a.m. as a 4 year old girl to pump water for the cows on her parents dairy farm. After looking at Life magazines, she decided at 5 years old that she wanted to be a nurse and travel the world. She graduated from Patoka High School in 1954 and from Burnham School of Nursing in 1957. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from University of St. Francis and her Master’s in Nursing from Indiana University. Carolyn served in the United States Army Nurse Corps for 10 years where she served in Japan and on the front lines in Vietnam. After serving in the Army, Carolyn worked at Methodist Hospital and Central State Hospital in Indianapolis. She served in Point Man Ministries and as a volunteer at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital – Evansville.
Carolyn is survived by Sister Shelia Adams; sisters, Vera Hansen, Debbie Hardesty (Rick), and Susan David (Larry); nieces, Dori Clements (James) and Vanessa Gaafar (David); nephews, Trevor David and Drew Hardesty; great nieces, Lily and Sophie; great nephew on the way; numerous cousins; and beloved dogs, Midnight and Hennesy.
