Carroll L. Jamerson, 72, of Newburgh, died at 3:30 a.m. today at Welborn Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Jamerson, a member of the Baptist faith, was head lock- man at Newburgh Lock & Dam for 30 years. He was a member of VFW Post 1114, and served in the Pacific during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Barbara Gibson; sons, Jim Jamerson of Chandler, Gary Jamerson of Holland, Ind., and John Jamerson of Havelock, N.C.; sisters, Jenny Gowins of Marion, Illinois, Berneda McGill of Eldorado, Illinois,, and Cora Needham of Winchester, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Elizabeth, Michelle, Joshua, Danielie Jamerson; and a great-grandson, Hunter Jamerson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Boone Funeral Home — 5330 Washington Ave., with the Rev. Delmar Neal officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills, Illinois.
