I am Catherine Walder and hopefully I am now at home in Heaven. I finally got to meet my paternal grandmother - Catherine A. Walder and my two newborn siblings - Theresa and Mark. There will be a marvelous reunion with Mom and Dad (Nancy and Robert), Older Sister (Antoinette - Toni) and Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and extended family. My passing was on May 23, 2026.
I was born in Pana, Illinois on August 31, 1951. Mother and Toni were on a visit with Gramma and Grandpa Allen - as my arrival was much earlier than anticipated.
Cairo, Illinois - childhood home until 1965. Between 1953 and 1959 - three more siblings joined the family- Chris, Steve, and Tracy.
Our family re-located to Evansville, Indiana in September 1965.
It was my great honor and privilege to work as a medical receptionist for 50 Years. There are many Co-workers / Friends I would like to thank - The longest friendship - and very dear - Lou Ann, we enjoyed day trips, going to craft shows, trying new recipes, and searching for the best chicken fingers and fries.
Thanking Tammy and Deb - I say "Good Morning" every day to my beloved Willow Tree Angel that you gifted me on a particularly stressful day that you recognized. No words were spoken - you instinctively knew that I needed to be uplifted.
Survivors include:
Siblings - Christine Emge (Dan), Stephen Walder, Tracy Walder; Nephew - Robert Emge (Erin); Niece; Sarah Emge; and Beloved Great-niece - Ava Rose Emge
Hopefully, they will remember my enthusiasm for homemade treats - biscuits, jams, jellies, and Pecan Tassies; Also, Indiana University Basketball and 70's and 80's music.
There will not be any service or burial (cremation) - instructions discussed and understood.
For the past several decades I have concluded every evening with a selection of cherished music.
Please remember me with the following selections:
1. Theme from 'A Summer Place' -Percy Faith-most beautiful melody ever!
2. 'Mull of Kintyre' - Paul McCartney- absolutely love the bagpipes!!
3. 'Con te Partiro' -Andrea Bocelli -violins and flutes with the voice of an Angel. My reward for 2 years of Latin - never had an opportunity to converse with a fellow Roman - the language is a love song.
4. 'My Sweet Lord' - George Harrison - love the zither and tambourine. Every bit a prayer as "Hail Mary" and "Our Father."
If you wish please make donations to Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Foundation Fund.
