Charles E. McWilliams, age 77, of Evansville, IN, passed away September 10, 2025, at his home.
Charles was born August 22, 1948, in Evansville, IN to the late Chastain and Naomi (Fulling) McWilliams. Charles graduated from Harrison High School in 1966 and went on to earn both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Evansville. He devoted 38 years to the teaching business at Harrison High School, retiring in 2008.
Charles was a lifelong motorsports enthusiast, faithfully attending the Indianapolis 500 for 50 consecutive years and the Brickyard 400 for 30 years. He also loved collecting signed baseball memorabilia and NASCAR keepsakes—treasures that reflected his passion for sports and racing. Above all, Charles doted on his children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment with his family.
A dedicated member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, Charles faithfully assisted with communion preparation and served on the counting committees. He also gave his time as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer, always offering a warm smile to those he met.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sally (Mills) McWilliams; daughter, Andrea Sue Conrad (Andrew “Bart”); son, Kurt Thomas McWilliams; brother, David Edgar McWilliams (Katy); and grandchildren, Otto Charles and Moxie Mae Conrad.
