Charles Joseph Seyler, Sr., age 84, of Evansville, IN, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at home.
Charlie was born March 3, 1939. He dropped out of school at the age of 10 to help his mom on the farm. Charlie was of the Baptist faith. He was a Trucker for Reliable Trucking Company in Maryland for over 20 years. The men just loved him there. Charlie was a people person; he loved everyone, and he loved going to Walmart to see people. He loved the girls at Columbia Nursing Home – they called him Pappaw. He collected Hot Wheels, knives, and anything Dale Earnhart Jr. or Sr. He loved watching NASCAR, especially Carl Lawson, and going fishing, crabbing. Charlie loved being outdoors, being on the go, going to flea markets, taking care of his gardens.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Pamela Sue “Pammy Girl” Hardaway (Michael Sr.); son, William Preston “Billie” Seyler (Ileen) and Richard D. “Ricky” Seyler (Devin); daughters-in-law, Rosie Mixion Seyler and Angie Seyler; grandchildren, Christy “Hooter Hooter” (Sweeny), David Jr. “Bubba,” Michael Jr. (Samantha), Brandon (Crystal), Twins Joseph III (Ashlyn) and Heaven, Anthony (Clarrisa), Amber (Trevor), Brittany (Ray), Matthew, Richard Jr. “Ricky,” Lexie, Zack, Bentley, Marcus, and McKayla; several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents; love of his life for 30 years, Eyvonne Seyler; first wife of 36 years, Barbara Seyler; sister, Candice Seyler Hall; brothers, Charles Joseph “Joey” Seyler, III, and Mark Allen Seyler; son-in-law, David Hall; Bradon’s first wife, Crystal.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2023, Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church, 2945 TN-49, Charlotte, TN. Burial will be Private.
