Clarence Murphy

Clarence Murphy, age 77, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 1:54 a.m., on June 10, 2022, at Baptist Health West in Little Rock, AR, after losing his battle with leukemia.

Clarence was born February 18, 1945, in Evansville, IN, to Elzie Murphy and Rose (Laugel) Murphy. He attended Central High School in Evansville. Clarence was affiliated with Souls Harbor Church. He retired as a Union Boilermaker (Local 374) in 2003 and continued his career as a Safety Man for Sterling Boiler and Mechanical.

Clarence was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, drag racing, wrestling, riding motorcycles, grilling, camping, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Clarence is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Brenda (Stovall) Murphy; son, Eric Murphy (Jennifer); daughter, Jennifer (Murphy) Harmon (Bryan); and a granddaughter, Iriyah (Murphy) Harmon.

Clarence is preceded in death by his brothers, Ed Murphy and Charles Murphy.

The family would like to thank Oncologist Dr. Kodali, as well as the nurses and lab technicians at Deaconess Gateway. Also the physicians, nurses, and staff who showed so much care and compassion at Baptist Health West in Little Rock, AR.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with Pastor Ron Bonds officiating and the American Legion Kapperman Post 44 will render full military rites. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
