Clyde E. Blackard, 83, of Evansville, died Monday, May 22, 2000, in St.Petersburg Beach, Florida.
He retired in 1979 as an ironworker and was a member of the Ironworkers Union for 50 years.
He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114.
He was a Mason and member of Murat Shrine in Indianapolis.
Surviving are six sisters, Catherine Elbert of Evansville, Tirzah Block, Betty Tafflinger and Sharon Qualters, all of Indianapolis, Myra Waldner of Noblesville, Ind., and Carol Murrell of LaMesa, Calif.; two brothers, John of Greenwood, Ind., and Jack of Louisville, Ky.; and nieces and nephews.
His wife, Martha, died in 1999.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Mitch Stichler officiating, with entombment in Park Lawn Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
