Colleen Richey Obituary

Colleen Joyce (Smith) Richey, age 85, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 3:05 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2020, at Primrose Retirement Community.

Colleen was born July 19, 1934, in McCall, ID, to Albert Smith and Dorothy Helen (Reynolds) Applegate. She was a member of Newburgh United Methodist Church. Colleen loved pottery, painting, horseback riding, snow skiing, and she especially loved traveling to practically every country in the world.

Colleen is survived by her sons, Scott Richey (Jackie) of Newburgh, IN, Leonard Richey (Sharon) of Indianapolis, IN, and Russell Richey (Sara) of Zionsville, IN; sister, Charleen Smith; brother, George Applegate; and grandchildren, Eli, Josie, Ike, Rebecca, Cole, and Finn.

Colleen is preceded in death by her father; mother and step-father, Dorothy and Les Applegate; beloved husband of 59 years; Robert A. Richey, MD; and siblings, Bob, Dorothy Lee, and Tina.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, IN.
