Cora Jane (Stewart) Pate

Cora Jane Pate, age 76, of Evansville, IN, formerly of Cloverport, KY., passed away at 6:06 a.m. on, Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital.

Cora was born, in Sample, KY, to Wilson Stewart and Elsie Mae (Allen) Stewart. She graduated from Cloverport High School in 1963. Cora was a member of Vann Avenue Baptist Church and worked in Customer Service for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to SWIRCA and dancing with the love of her life. Cora also enjoyed camping, fishing and family get togethers. She loved strumming her guitar that was autographed by Dolly Parton.

Cora is survived by her husband of 58 years, Chester Pate Sr.; daughter, Janie Darnell Riester (Rex); son, Chet Pate (Heather Nicholson); grandchildren, Amanda Bowen Pate, Baylee Lorn Pate, Michael O’Brian, Tiffany Bowen, Ashley Riester, Alex Riester and Jordan Nicholson; great grandchildren, Aaleigha, Amari, A’Marie, Amillie, Amia, Emerson, Atticus, Ryann, Sarah Joy, Ashton and Kash; brother; Kim Stewart; and best friend, Charlene Pierce.

Cora is preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Nellie Payne and Shirley Liles.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 31, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Bro. David Schulz officiating.
