Daniel Douglas, age 66, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 11:48 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021, at St. Vincent Ascension.
Dan was born February 14, 1954 in Evansville, IN, to Charles P. Douglas and Mary Lee (Thompson) Kniffen. He graduated from North High School in 1972. He retired as a Lieutenant for the Evansville Fire Department after 30 years. He enjoyed being outdoors and doing activities such as gardening, camping, fishing, and swimming. He loved music, reading, playing with his grandchildren, and loved his dog Draggo. He was fierce in his faith for the Lord and could not wait until he could go to his Heavenly home.
Dan is survived by wife, Carole Douglas; daughter, Rachel Thomason; son, Josh Douglas (Kasey); sister, Becky Buxton (Brent); brother, Mike Douglas (Kathy); and grandchildren, Isabella Thomason, Sophia Thomason, and Walker Douglas.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents; step-parents, Carol Jean Douglas and Robert Kniffen; sister-in-law, Linda Bush; and niece, Amanda Gidcumb.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Ben Lovell officiating.
