Daniel L. Wersich, Jr., age 97, of Evansville, IN, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at Linda E. White Hospice House.
Daniel was born January 4, 1928, in Evansville, IN, to Mary A. (Schauss) and Daniel Wersich. He graduated from Central High School. After graduation, he served 3 years in the Army Air Corp as a photographer, serving in the Philippines. Daniel worked 11 years at Chrysler Corp and 28 ½ years at A.I.G., being a trip winner 11 times. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Also a member of Order of Owls. Daniel loved to hunt, fish, garden, woodworking, and playing Rum.
Daniel is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Faye; son, Donald Wersich Hosmeyer; niece, Carol Wersich; and nephew, Robert Rust.
Daniel is the last of eight siblings and is survived by niece and dedicated caregiver, Jane E. Marriott; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Jenny Manning, Todd Scott, Donna Carr, Darrell Wilke and other friends who have helped care for him.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2025, beginning with the American Legion Kapperman Post 44 rendering military honors at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Dewey Miller officiating. The Burial will be approximately at 12:00 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery, Albion, IL, with Pastor Kenny Bailey officiating.
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
