Darlene Sue (Brown) Baumgart, age 87, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 7:40 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Linda E. White Hospice House.
Darlene was born March 13, 1935, in Evansville, IN, to Earl and Myrtle (Tuley) Brown. She graduated from Boss High School in 1953 went on to graduate from Lockyear Business College. Darlene worked at Standard Oil prior to marrying Vernon in 1955. She was a stay-at-home wife and mom and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. Darlene enjoyed reading, and she enjoyed refinishing and selling antique furniture. She loved decorating for all the holidays. She was creative and had a flair for decorating that was unique only to her imagination. Darlene especially loved traveling with her grandchildren. Her husband, children, and grandsons were her life.
Darlene is survived by her daughters, Jill Pellichero and Beth Day (Michael); daughter-in-law, Abi Baumgart; grandchildren, Drew Nulton and Devin Burke; and life-long friend, Helene White.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Myrtle Brown, loving husband of 54 years, Vernon Jacob Baumgart, who passed away in 2010; infant son, Keith Alan Baumgart; son, Doug Keith Baumgart, who passed in 2020; siblings, Delores Schneider, Gerri Rathgaber, Roy Brown, Bob Brown, Edith Kuehn, Rosaline Travers, Danny, Brown, and Josephine Bates; and son-in-law, Bill Pellichero.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with David Rathgaber officiating.
Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
