Darrel Wayne Uhde, age 61, of Evansville, IN, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at home.
Darrel was born October 6, 1962, in Evansville, IN, to the late Donald and Eleanor (Leathers) Uhde. He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1980 where he played basketball and football, attended Purdue University, and graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indiana State University - Evansville. Darrel attended Blue Grass Church. He worked as a Senior Project Engineer for George Koch Sons and was an integral part of their team for 37 years where he contributed immensely to their shared success. He was an Eagle Scout and 4-H Member, and he later served as a Cub Scout Leader and Webelo Leader. Darrel enjoyed collecting coins and banner stones. He loved his family, and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Darrel is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Lisa (Skelton) Uhde; daughter, Amanda Rexing (Troy); son, Phillip Salomon (Meagan); brother, David Uhde (Diann); 4 grandchildren, Corinne, Ivan Rexing, Walter Rexing, and Eleanor Rexing, with Margaret Salomon and Baby Rexing on the way; niece and nephews, Rebecca Bender (Zach), Josh Uhde (Kristi), and Justin Uhde (Brooke); and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Doug Heiman officiating. Burial will be Private in Blue Grass Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
