David Lawrence Curl, age 94, of Evansville, IN, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent - Evansville.
David was born November 11, 1930, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Shirley F. and Apphia G. (Ayer) Curl. He graduated from Boonville High School in 1950. David proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict on the USS Waldron-Destroyer. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. David retired in 1996 from SIGECO after 42 years of service in electrical engineering and service.
David is survived by his daughter, Deborah K. Perkins; son, Jeffrey W. Curl (Sonia E.); daughter in law; Monica Curl; grandchildren, Alyssa M. Curl and Logan M. Curl (Sarah); and great grandson, Anderson.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley F. and Apphia G. Curl; loving wife of 60 years, Annetta (Baker) Curl; son, David Keith Curl; son in law, John E. Perkins; sisters, Elizabeth “Bettye” Curl and Virginia Curl Key; and brothers, Shirley M. Curl, Joseph A. Curl, and Roger D. Curl.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Andrew Scheller officiating. The Vanderburgh County Retired Veteran’s will be rendering military rites. Entombment will be in Park Lawn Mausoleum.
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, and again from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
