David G. Eager, age 82, of Evansville, IN, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.
David was born October 19, 1937, in Evansville, IN, to George S. and Lillian (Groff) Eager. He graduated from the old Central High School in 1955 and went on to attend Indiana University and Evansville College where he was a charter member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. David was a member of American Baptist East LifeLifters.
David retired from Sears & Roebuck with 35 ½ years of service. He held various assignments in the retail store, including the appliance repair department and the auto center over the years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, old cars, and traveling. David also volunteered at Warrick Humane Society and Wesselman Woods Nature Center.
David was a member of The Old Tyme Auto Club, International Mercury Owners Association, Crosley Automobile Club, and Southern Indiana Volks Force. He also spent time serving in the United States Army Reserve.
David wanted to thank all his “email” buddies for all the words and laughs they have shared over the years.
David is survived by his loving wife of 58 ½ years, Patricia L. (Bell) Eager; son, Daniel J. Eager; and grandson, Jacob David Eager.
David is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian Eager; son, David Michael Eager; and brother, Donald F. Eager.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2020, at Sunset Memorial Park, 1800 Saint George Road, Evansville, with Pastor Ange Humphrey officiating.
