David D. Hawkins

David D. Hawkins, age 57, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Linda E. White Hospice House.

David was born March 1, 1965, in Amarillo, TX, to Dick Dickerson and Jewel Atkinson. He was a member of Saint Ananias Orthodox Church. David was self-employed, working in construction and personally worked for Andrew Cherng, the CEO of Panda Express. David loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He loved his reptiles and dogs.

David is survived by his son; sister, Carol Cantrell; brothers, JJ Atkinson and James Atkinson; friends, Danny and Mackenzie Santos and their children, Ambrus and Dayanara, Shataya Hostzclaw and her son, Mekhi Hostzclaw; parents, Dick Dickerson and Jewel Atkinson; and dog, Chi Chi.

David is preceded in death by his grandparents; and dog, Koda.

The Orthodox Christian Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Saint Ananias Orthodox Church, 3407 Bellemeade Avenue, Evansville, IN, with Father Daniel Hackney officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Saint Ananias Orthodox Church, with a Trisagion Prayer Service beginning at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Saint Ananias Orthodox Church. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Wednesday, February 8, 2023, Saint Ananias Orthodox Church.
