David Earl Martin

David Earl Martin, age 88, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.

David was born September 25, 1937, in Louisville, KY, to Bert and Edith (Muckenfuss) Martin. He graduated from Bosse High School. David worked in manufacturing at Whirlpool where he retired after 40 years. After retirement, he took up a second career at Wolfe’s Auto Auction where he worked for 13 years. David was a big football fan and loved to watch NFL games on T.V.. His favorite teams were the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears. Along with professional football, he loved going to his great-grandchildren’s sporting events. David also spent a lot of time at the racetrack with his brothers.

David is survived by his daughter, Debbie Cashen (Robert); son, Jeffrey Martin (Teresa); grandchildren, Aaron Martin, Mendy Martin (Katie), Kristin Weber (Todd), Jana Hale (Jason), Ryan Cashen, and Tyler Cashen (Brooke); step-grandchildren, Alex Loney and Nina Loney; 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a few nieces and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his second wife, Debbie; parents, Bert and Edith; brothers, Kenny and Steve Martin; son, Tim Martin; granddaughter, Adrea Schneider; and his first wife, Sandra (Ford) Martin.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August  10, 2026, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue with Rev. Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2026, and again from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, August 10, 2026 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
