David R. "Dave" Dickerson

David R. “Dave” Dickerson, age 80, of Evansville, IN, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Newburgh Healthcare.

Dave was born September 27, 1943, in Alton, IL, to Howard Russell and Lanore Marie (Epps) Dickerson. He graduated from Alton High School and was a member of River Ridge Church of Christ in Newburgh, IN. Dave was a United States Marine Veteran and a proud member of the Vanderburgh County Republican Party. He founded CFL (Citizens for Liberty), was a member of the 2nd Amendment Patriots, a member of the Vanderburgh County Tea Party Patriots, a member of the National Tea Party Patriots, and was actively involved with the National Day of Prayer in Evansville. He thoroughly enjoyed working in his civic and political organizations – he was a Patriot through and through.

Dave worked as a Truck Driver and Salesman for Lance Cookie Company for many years. He enjoyed reading his Bible, singing hymns, sending greeting and sympathy cards, calling people on their birthday to sing Happy Birthday to them, and spending time with his church family. He loved the church kids – they’d push him around in his wheelchair.

Dave is survived by his son, Shawn Dickerson; 2 grandchildren; and many close friends.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN. The River Cities DET 1090 of the Marine Corp League NEW, and the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will begin the service with a military rites. Jeremy Nettles will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
