Dennis R Richter

Dennis R. Richter, age 78, of Evansville, IN, passed peacefully at 4:53 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital-Evansville.

Dennis was born February 28, 1942 in Evansville, IN, to Gilbert R Richter and Martha R. (Bennett)Richter. He graduated from Central High School in 1960 and later, received degree in Industrial Maintenance from IVY Tech. Dennis was a United States Navy Veteran, served three tours of duty during the Vietnam War as a Chief Warrant Officer II and retired in 1981 after 22 years of service. He later retired from TJ Maxx in 2005 as Director of Security. Dennis was a member of Living Word Christian Church in Newburgh, and lifetime member of VFW Post #2714 in Ft. Branch.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Nancy H. Richter; daughters, Mardyne Smith (Dion), Denyse Espinosa, Helyn Go (Jim), Jessica Askren (David), Amber Mercado and Sara Richter; sons, John Richter (Megan), Brian Richter, Michael Richter, Stephen Richter and William Richter; brothers, Richard Richter (Linda), David Richter (Becky) and Steven Richter; forty grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Jolayne Richter and Cynthia Hopper and former wife, Donna Richter.

Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Living Word Christian Church, 3888 IN-261, Newburgh, IN with Pastor Mike Claypool officiating. American Legion Kapperman Post #44 of Newburgh will render full military rites.

Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until time of celebration, Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Living Word Christian Church.
