Deputy Asson Anthony Hacker

Deputy Asson Anthony Hacker, age 33, of Evansville, IN, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Asson was born February 13, 1990, in Queens, NY, to Paul Hacker and Wanda LaLonde. He graduated from Bedford North Lawrence High School and went on to earn his Associate’s Degree from Olney Central College where he played on the basketball team. Asson worked as a coal miner before joining the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department in 2022. He enjoyed playing sports with his children, spending time with family, weekend getaways with his wife, and he especially loved his boys.

Asson is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Kourtney (Crockett) Hacker; sons, Kendrick Hacker, Kyrie Hacker, Kayden Hacker and Jayvin Hout; parents, Paul Hacker and Wanda LaLonde; brothers, Joshua Massop, Lij Hacker, and Justice Hacker; sisters, Niya Sosa (Ivan) and Alexis Hacker; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Asson is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Kelma Richards and Jean LaLonde.

Funeral Services were held Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Christian Fellowship Church, Evansville, IN, with Chaplain Kris Holzmeyer officiating and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Honor Guard rendering full funeral rites.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Evansville, IN.
