Derek Deshea Johnson

Derek Deshea Johnson, age 28, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 2:56 a.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2021.

Derek was born January 4, 1993, in Evansville, IN, to Charles E. Johnson and Fayla Pemberton. He attended Harrison High School. Derek attended Memorial Baptist Church when he was younger. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Derek especially loved being a father and spending time with his family and friends.

Derek is survived by his parents, Charles Johnson and Fayla Pemberton; sons, Jakaii Johnson and Treylon Pabey-Johnson; daughter, Zaylah Johnson; brothers, Aadyn Pemberton and Axdon Pemberton; grandmother, Mary Johnson; great grandmother, Mary Nuhring; uncle, Lomond "Keith" Johnson; aunt, Donna Michelle Johnson; uncles, Jeff Pemberton, Mike Pemberton, and Mark Pemberton; and a host of extended family and special friends.

Derek is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Christine and Edward Vic; grandparents, Don Pemberton and Rita Herr; uncles, Calvin Martin, Kenneth Hopson, Keith “Lefty” Pemberton, and TJ Herr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend William Payne officiating. Burial will be Private.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until service time, Monday, December 27, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
