Derrick Lee Buhmeier, 49, passed on March 29, 2025. He was born in Evansville, Indiana, on July 22, 1975, unto David and Nora (Thomas) Buhmeier.
After attending High School, Derrick went to Nashville, Tennessee, to the Auto Diesel College. He worked there for a time and eventually moved back to his hometown of Evansville. Derrick worked for Wisely Security and was contracted to keep Alcoa safe. When he wasn’t working, Derrick enjoyed tinkering on cars. He liked all makes and models but had a special fondness for his Chevy’s. To many of his friends and neighbors, he was the guy to call when they needed a little work done on their vehicle. He listened to gospel music when he had the radio going. Derrick loved being outdoors. He spent a lot of his time working in the yard, but when he wasn’t there, he was fishing! That was where it was at for him. Derrick did very much enjoy his hobbies, however, the relationship with his family surpassed it all. Derrick leaves all of his love and memories to his three children, two grandsons, and loving mother.
Derrick is survived by his daughters, Alexandria Nelson, Katie-Lynn Buhmeier; his son, Jabe Buhmeier; his mother, Nora Robertson; and his grandchildren, Xavier Nelson and Zander Nelson.
Derrick is preceded in death by his father, David Buhmeier; his step father, Bruce Robertson.
