Donald LeRoy Sunderman, age 85, of Evansville, went to see the Lord on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
Don was born March 1, 1937, in Dyersburg, TN, to Morris and Wilda (Jones) Sunderman. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1955 and spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He attended Evansville College. Don retired from Indiana Bell/AT&T and was a past President of the Northside Kiwanis. He loved wood working and made furniture for his family and friends. He was a former member of Terrace Parke Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and was a church trustee for several decades as well as a former member of New Life Church where he served as an Elder. Don was a member of Living Word Christian Church in Newburgh, IN.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Julia (Hillyard) Sunderman; daughter, Tracey Tebelman (Mark) of Erlanger, KY; son, Scott Sunderman (Sharon) of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Lou Sunderman (Sarah), Ben Sunderman, Julia Sunderman, Mary Kate Sunderman, and Savannah Tebelman; great twin grandsons, Oliver and Harrison Sunderman; brother, C. Kenneth Sunderman (Ladonna) of Hampshire, IL; and nieces and nephews.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Wilda Sunderman; and brothers, Jerry Sunderman and Richard Sunderman.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Bob Kennedy and Pastor Tommy Epperson officiating. A Live Stream will be available beginning twenty minutes prior to the service time.
