Donna L. (Rider) Mortis

Donna L. (Rider) Mortis, age 83, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital – Evansville.

Donna was born December 27, 1937, in Shawneetown, IL, to Sherman and Blanche (Dillard) Rider. She graduated from Gallatin County High School in 1955. Donna enjoyed fishing with dad and working in the yard and with her flowers. She was the most devoted full-time mother and grandma her entire life, and most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Donna is survived by her daughters, Vicki James of Evansville, IN, and Debbie O’Bryan of Oakland City; grandchildren, Matt Cox (Erin), Angie Moffett (Lance), Jason Cox (Amanda), Brandon O’Bryan (Lara), and Kelly Newmaster (Toby); sister, Judy Morse (Butch); brother, J.W. Rider; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Donna is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years; Bill J. Mortis, who passed away in 2017; parents, Sherman and Blanche Rider; brother, Ed Rider; and sister, Betty Shockley.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Brandon O’Bryan and Matt Cox officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
