Doris Ann (Daughtery) Shrodes, age 72, of Evansville, IN, peacefully departed from this world on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Hamilton Pointe Health and Rehab, leaving a legacy of cherished memories that will remain in our hearts.
Doris was born March 1, 1952, in Evansville, IN, to the late John and Lillian (Payne) Daughtery. She attended Bosse High School. Doris found joy in life’s simple pleasures, evident in her passion for collecting baskets, country-home décor, and Boyd’s Bears. Each piece in her collection represented her appreciation for the beauty found in everyday things and her knack for creating a cozy and welcoming home.
Doris shared 57 years of marriage with her devoted husband, William Edwards Shrodes, Sr., a testament to their enduring love and commitment to each other. Together, they weathered life’s joy and challenges, building a foundation of love and support for their family.
Doris is survived by her loving husband, William Shrodes, Sr.; their children, Jason Shrodes (Bindu), Kristi Mock, Jamie O’Dell (Jacob), and Jessica Feagans. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Chelsea, Maddy, Ethan, Samantha, Andrew, Katie, Jack, Jaylyn, Addison, Ava, and Brynlee; and 2 great grandchildren.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents; and beloved son, William “Junior” Edward Shrodes, Jr., who passed away in 2018, and whose memory will forever be cherished. She is also preceded by her daughter-in-law, Anita Jean Shrodes; sisters, Daisy Ramsey, Rosemary Hart, and Norma Jean Byrley; and brother, David Daughtery.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Ralph Springer officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
