Doris J. (Cundiff) Stock

Doris J. (Cundiff) Stock, 96, formerly of Evansville, passed away at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at First Health Hospice House in West End, NC.

Doris was born March 1, 1928, in Owensboro, KY, the daughter of James and Pearl (West) Cundiff. She was a graduate from Central High School in 1946. Doris was a member of Bethel Community Church and Oakland City Church of Nazarene.

Doris was a living testament to the truth of the Gospel. Her words were kind and gentle, but her actions spoke volumes. She didn't need to say much to share her faith; she lived it. In every conversation, every prayer, every thoughtful gesture, she pointed us toward Jesus. It was through her that we learned what it truly means to be Christlike in the way we love others.

As we say goodbye today, we find comfort knowing that she is now in the arms of the Savior she served so faithfully. Though we will miss her deeply, we know that she is now experiencing the fullness of peace, joy, and love that she so generously shared with all of us. 

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Nordhorn (Donald) of Evansville; son, Charles Stock (Peggy Beck) of Evansville; grandchildren, Lorie Bagby of Indianapolis, IN, Virgil Dillbeck, Jr. of Evansville, Melissa Davis (Keith) of Pinehurst, NC, Christopher Dillbeck (Ashley) of Owensboro, KY, and Jason C. Stock of Evansville; 10 great-grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 68 years, Henry C. Stock; grandson, Brandon Michael Stock; great-grandson, Reese Henry Stock; sisters, Nellie Louise Downs, Leola Saberton, Frances Graham, and Juanita Sampley; brothers, Leo Cundiff, James Cundiff Jr. and William “Billy” Cundiff.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor Darren Nossett officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3-7 pm, Friday, January 24, 2025 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue.
