Dorothy Irene (Thomas) Lovell

Dorothy Irene (Thomas) Lovell, age 74, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at home.

Dorothy was born March 2, 1951, in Evansville, IN, to Fred and Mary (Lester) Thomas, and she attended Central High School. Dorothy was a hard worker, always holding down two jobs. Most recently, she worked in the Records Office at Deaconess Hospital and in the Unemployment Office for the State of IN. She loved shopping trips and watching late night movie premiers with her kids. She had a passion for reading - always had a book in her hand; and she loved cooking for her family. Dorothy loved her family, and most especially loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Karen Rickard (Fred); son, Stephen Lovell, II; sister, Nora Robertson; grandchildren, Samantha Beaven (Geoff), Cody Pate (Hunter), and Alysa Gerlarden; great grandchildren, Isabelle, Lilah, Ithaca, Case, and Rigby.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen Martin Lovell; daughter, Tammy Gerlarden; 2 sisters; and 7 brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. CST, Friday, November 14, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time CST, Friday, November 14, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
