Dorothy Jean (Clem) Rice

Dorothy Jean (Clem) Rice, age 87, of Evansville, IN, passed away Saturday, October 04, 2025, at Walnut Creek Memory Care with family at her side.

Dorothy was born March 30, 1938, in Evansville, IN, to the late George L. Clem, Sr. and Ada (Keach) Clem. She graduated from Central High School. Dorothy retired from EVSC as attendant on a bus route. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Dorothy was a NASCAR and IU Basketball fan. She enjoyed camping and especially watching her son race motorcycles.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Dennis Rice (Sherri); grandchildren, Taylor Dendinger (Ryan), Tyler Wittmer (Alicia), and Haley Mitchell (Taylor); 6 great grandchildren; sister in law, Margaret Clem; and nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ada Clem; loving husband of 55 years, Gerald Rice; sisters, Gloria Brown and Carolyn Luncefors; brothers, George Clem, Jr. and Carl Clem; and great grandchild, Ellison Wittmer.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Tyler Wittmer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
