Dorothy “Dottie” M. (Steck) Pauli, 95, of Detroit, MI, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at her home.
Dottie was born on November 23, 1929, to George and Martha (Piri) Steck. She was a graduate of Bosse High School, Class of 1948. Dottie was a loving wife, devoted mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and being around people, always seeing the good in everyone. Dottie and her late husband carried on the family tradition of making springerles every Christmas and sharing the cookies with family and friends. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's various school and sports activities.
In her younger years, Dottie volunteered as a Pink Lady at Deaconess Hospital downtown. She had a deep faith in God. She taught Sunday School for 30 years at Zion UCC downtown, and she enjoyed seeing many of the kids she taught grow up, marry, and have families of their own. People who met her would comment on her warm, beautiful smile and sweet demeanor. She was always positive and encouraging. A beautiful, sweet soul who will be greatly and deeply missed.
Dottie is survived by her son, Tim and Ingrid of Roswell, GA; daughter, Marti of Evansville, IN; son, Tom and Fay of Evansville, IN; and grandchildren, Harrison (Keanna), Samantha, Jessica, and Dana.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 63 years, Daniel Pauli; brother, Russell Steck; and sister, Pearl Steck.
