Dr. Jason Samuel Obituary

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness.”  2 Timothy 4:7-8

Jason Thomas Samuel, 86, of Henderson, Kentucky, entered the presence of his Savior on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, surrounded by his family in prayer and worship.

Born February 13, 1940, in Tiruchi, India, to T.V. Samuel and Kamala Samuel, Jason lived a life marked by faith, perseverance, and deep compassion for others. He graduated from Madurai Medical College and began his career as a medical officer at Dalmia Cement in South India. He then did a one year pediatric residency.

In 1964, he married the love of his life, Inbarani “Rani” (Siromoney) Samuel. In 1970, with just eight dollars in his pocket, Jason came to the United States in pursuit of further training. By 1976, he had settled in Henderson, Kentucky, where he established his own medical practice. He faithfully served the Tri-State community for decades, as a specialist in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Jason never met a stranger. His warmth, humor, and genuine care made everyone feel seen and valued. He was quick to laugh and generous with both his time and wisdom. He loved to travel with his wife & children and visit with friends. He was full of life and joy.

A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Jason lived out his faith daily. He and Rani were longtime members of Bethel Church on Lincoln Avenue, where at one point, he served as an Elder. Together, they became spiritual parents and grandparents to many, investing deeply in the lives of others through discipleship, encouragement, and love.

Jason was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He cherished his family and leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, sacrificial love, and a life fully surrendered to Christ.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rani; daughters, Twinkle (Nate) Ratnasamy and Vanji (Anand “Andy”) Suresh; son, Prince (Faith) Samuel; grandchildren, Jacintha (Dylan), Bithia (Gordon), Hannah, Prince II “RJ,” Chancellor, Sovereign, Sadie Lynn, and Andrew “Motor”; and great-grandchildren, Kiran, Sia, and Benji.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ranjan Samuel, and an infant sister.
