Dr. Robert G. Harp, Jr., 61, of Irvine, California, passed away to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on July 17, 2020.
Bob was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 28, 1959, to Robert G. Harp, Sr. and Dee Dee. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1977 in Evansville, Indiana. He received his BA in Economics and MA in Communications from Wheaton College, a Master of Theology (ThM) from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Bob was intentional in integrating his faith with his work and fulfilled his life Bible verse, I Corinthians 15:58 - "Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
Bob was a Real Estate Broker and held the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) commercial real estate designation. As an entrepreneur for over 20 years, he was the founder and CEO of GlobalHotelNetwork.com, an online global media brand providing market insights and thought leadership for the global travel and tourism industry. He also served as the Executive Director of the Office of Innovation at Biola University, with a mission to foster Christ-honoring innovation and entrepreneurship worldwide, and as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Adjunct Professor at Biola University's Crowell School of Business. In 2019, Bob joined the Lausanne Movement, a global network of leaders in the Faith @ Work realm, as the Catalyst for Marketplace Ministry.
Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jill; son, Preston; daughter, Natalie; parents, Bob and Dee Dee Harp; sister, Kim (John) Miley; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Karen Fine and Tina Norris.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Christian Fellowship Church, 4100 Millersburg Road, Evansville, Indiana 47725, with Pastor David Niednagel officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Christian Fellowship Church.
