E. Richard "Rick" Hoffman, Jr.

E. Richard “Rick” Hoffman Jr., our beloved husband, father, and Poppop, met his Lord and Savior, July 15, 2024, peacefully surrounded by his family.

Rick was born March 11, 1941, in Sunbury, PA, to Earl R. Hoffman and Betty J. (Askins) Morrow. He graduated from Cheltonham High School in 1959. Rick graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s in English. He worked at Bristol Myers for 25 years in the nutritional division. After retiring, he proudly served as a branch manager at Fifth Third Bank, followed by several years in administration at Junior Achievement.  Later, he volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital, driving the shuttle.

Rick was a member at Living Word Christian Church. He had a love for animals and bird watching. Rick had an infectious laugh and was loved by anyone who met him.  He loved playing games, listening to southern gospel music, and watching the Andy Griffith show. Rick had a giving heart, compassionate spirit, and a profound love for his family. 

Rick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth (MacBeth) Hoffman; daughters, Cindy Felts (Scott) and Karen Anthony (Jeffrey); sister, Dayna Cooper (Tim); brothers, David Hoffman (Jenny) and Doug Hoffman (Helen); and grandchildren, Caleb Felts, Daniel Felts, Sarah Felts, and Tristan Anthony.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Joel Hoffman.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2024, at Living Word Christian Church, 3888 State Route 261, Newburgh, IN, with Pastor Tommy Epperson, Pastor Caleb Felts, and Daniel Felts officiating. Burial will be private in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service, Monday, July 22, 2024, at Living Word Christian Church.
