Edmond J. "EJ" Sperling

Edmond J. “EJ” Sperling, age 87, of Evansville, IN, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, at Brickyard Healthcare – Woodlands Care Center.

Ed was born December 17, 1935, in Frazee, MN, to John and Lena (Litzau) Sperling. He was employed by the USPS as a mail carrier and retired in 1994. Ed was a member of Heritage Baptist Church since 1961 where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. He coached basketball for Faith Heritage School. Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Barbara A. (Bassett) Sperling; sons, Edmond “Johnny” Sperling II (Randa) and George W. “Bill” Sperling (Deana); 6 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents John and Lena Sperling; and six siblings.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Pastor Alan Jackson officiating. Entombment will be in Oak Hill Mausoleum.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
