Edward Diekmann, Jr Obituary

Edward Charles “Ed” Diekmann, Jr went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2022, at Golden Living Center – Brentwood.

Ed was born in Evansville, IN to the late Irma and Edward Diekmann, Sr. He graduated from North High School and University of Evansville with a Mechanical Engineering degree. While in college he was active in Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He was a licensed Professional Engineer. Ed presented six papers at various meetings of the Society for Electrocoating and held one patent. During his career he served as a Design Engineer, Chief Engineer and a Sales and Engineering Manager. He consulted for several firms in Evansville and Tennessee.

He enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and volunteering at his home church Christian Fellowship, Evansville Rescue Mission and serving on several Tres Dias weekends. He always looked forward to each Saturday morning he spent with his men’s bible study group over the last 24 years.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Parkinson’s community, Heart to Heart Hospice, Brentwood Nursing Home ACU staff, and family and friends who so graciously offered help over the years.

Ed is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nony Diekmann; daughters Heather Hurley (Mick) of Carmel, Indiana; Angie Schwartz (Denny) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; grandchildren Max and Hannah Hurley and Josh and Jonathan Schwartz; and sister Jayne Morris.
