Eleanor R. Castle, 78, of Evansville, died at 1:10 a.m. yesterday at Welborn Baptist Hospital.
Mrs. Castle, a Bosse High School graduate, retired in 1982 from the Evansville-Vanderburgh County School Corp. She was a teacher of English and German in Harrison and Bosse High Schools for 28 years.
She was a Phi Beta Kappa and received both her undergraduate and masters degrees from Indiana University-Bloomington.
She was a life time member of the First Baptist Church, Evansville. She also held membership in the Evansville Retired Teachers Association, the Indiana State Retired Teacher’s Association and Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
Surviving are a son, Frederick “Rick” Castle of Evansville and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Castle of Evansville.
Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at First Baptist Church, Fourth and Cherry streets, the Rev. Rae Bartle officiating, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home — 5300 Washington Ave.
The family said friends, if they wish, may make memorial contributions to First Baptist Church.
