Eleanor “Ann” (Callis) Whitfield, age 86, of Evansville, IN, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at Heart to Heart Hospice House.
Ann was born July 21, 1939, in Evansville, IN, to John Crystal and Blanche Ann (Bridwell) Callis. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1957 and from IU Medical Center in 1959. She worked as an X-Ray Technician and volunteered at schools, scouts, church, and at the Trinity food bank. Ann was a member of the Newburgh Garden Club. She was a 40 year member of Newburgh United Methodist and very involved with the church Clothes Closet.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Thomas C. Whitfield; daughter, Crystal Whitfield; son, Thomas “Marc” Whitfield (Debbie); grandchildren, Brandon T. Whitfield (Jenna), Ashley K. Adler (Grady), Aaron M. Gibson, and Rachel C. Gibson; and 3 great grandchildren, Elijah Whitfield, Emerson Adler, and Ella Adler.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jean (Callis) O’Day; and brother, Charles H. Callis.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Newburgh United Methodist Church at 4178 IN-261, Newburgh, IN 47630 with Pastor Holly Hardsaw officiating. Burial will be Private.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Newburgh United Methodist Church.
