Elizabeth Fuqua Flittner

Elizabeth Fuqua Flittner, age 92, of Newburgh, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Primrose Retirement Community of Newburgh.

Elizabeth was born September 14, 1931, in Owensboro, KY, to George and Martine Fuqua. She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and worked at Catholic Charities in Evansville as a social worker.  Elizabeth volunteered at the Reitz Home and St. Mary’s Hospital Auxilliary where she received an award for 35 years of service. Elizabeth enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, bird watching and traveling. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Anne Weidner (Dan), Kathleen Luebbe (Mike) and Marilyn Roth (Lawrence); son, Stanley H. Flittner, Jr. (Lynn); sister, Jean Fuqua, S.P.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Beauboeuf (Stephan), Margaret Weidner, Emily Fiedler (Joey), Kathleen Cross (Travis), Susan Pauli (Jacob), John Luebbe, Sam Luebbe, David Luebbe (Mallory), Lawson Roth, Clare Esche (John), Andrew Roth (Kelly) and Natalie Roth; and 14 great grandchildren.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley H. Flittner, Sr. and her sister Eleanor Barton.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3101 Bayard Park Drive, Evansville, IN, 47714 with Father Bernie Etienne officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit from  4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue and Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. A prayer service will be held at Boone Funeral Home on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
