Emerson Keith Sims

Emerson “Keith” Sims, 91, passed away peace­fully on Saturday, May 26, 201 8 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Keith was born on Janu­ary 30, 1927 to Emer­son and Lillian (Sterling) Sims. Keith had several siblings and was the last of his family.

He married the love of his life, Rella Lane on June 1946. They had two children, a daughter, Joretta and a son, Kerry.

“Chief” as some called him, resided in Odon with his family where he worked at the Bechtel Garage, Wood­ruff Automotive and the Odon Vault Company from which he retired. Keith and Rella were married for 65 years and she preceded him in death on January 27, 2011.

Keith is survived by his two children, Joretta (Bob) Campbell, of Elnora; and Kerry Sims of Odon; 4 grandchildren: Dana, Doug, Mindy and Mike; 10 great-grandchil­dren and 2 great-great grandchildren. All whom were blessed to have him in their lives.

He is reunited in heaven with his parents, siblings and beloved wife.

A private family service will be held at a later date at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon, IN.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN.
