Emma Jean (Peach) Tabor

Emma Jean (Peach) Tabor, age 89, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 11:07 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Hendricks Regional Health.

Jean was born September 7, 1930, in Duff, IN, to the late Lee and Mary (Borman) Peach and was a 1948 graduate of Bosse High School. She started her career in the food service industry at the age of 13 at Woods Drug Store. Jean also operated the cafeteria at the YWCA for 21 years. Most recently, she worked for 16 years as a cashier at Target where she loved and adored her customers. Jean was a long-time member of Calvary Temple and was currently a member of Harvestime Temple in Mount Vernon, IN. She was a 60-plus year member of Order Of The Eastern Star. Jean was a woman of great faith who raised her family to serve the Lord.

Mom will be deeply missed by her family, her church family, and her many friends. “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”

Jean is survived by her daughter, Kim Speer (Kevin) of Brownsburg, IN; sons, Reverend Bob Tabor Jr. (Ann) of Gainesville, GA, Mike Tabor (Rosanne) of Newburgh, IN, Reverend Mark Tabor (Tonya) of Mount Vernon, IN, and Reverend Brian Tabor (Kim) of Fishers, IN; sister, Betty Paddock of Evansville; brother, Jerry Peach (Suzie) of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren, Shelley Wallace (Mike), Craig Tabor (Elise), Angie Keller (Jason), Christine Swanson, Brooke Neuerman (Carey), Weston Tabor (Ashley), Eric Speer, and Cole Speer; 12 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert “Bob” Tabor, who passed away in April 2015; sisters, Thelma Anderson and Kathleen Tabor; brother, Delbert Peach; and grandson, Derek Tabor.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with her sons, Reverend Brian Tabor and Reverend Mark Tabor officiating.
